Pythagorio to Agia Marina is served by Dodekanisos Seaways on the fast Dodekanisos Pride and by SAOS Ferries on the Saonisos. The route runs south from Samos through Agathonissi, Arki, Patmos and Lipsi.

Agia Marina is one of two ports on Leros and sits at the commercial and administrative heart of the island. Around the harbour are Italian rationalist-era buildings, including the clocktower and the market, left from the Italian administration between 1912 and 1943. Leros is quieter than Kos or Patmos, and people come for its calm beaches, its wartime history and its unhurried pace.

The route runs most days in season. Current departures, journey times and fares are shown in the table below. Note that Leros has a second port at Lakki, a few kilometres away, which handles the larger conventional ferries, so check which one your ticket names.

  • If your itinerary is time-critical (flight the next day), always choose the conventional slow ferry over the fast catamaran in summer – reliability matters more than speed.
  • Check the Poseidon sea state forecast (hcmr.gr) for detailed wave height and period forecasts across all Greek sea areas.
  • The onboard cafeteria on most Greek ferries serves hot meals, sandwiches, pastries, and drinks – quality varies but it is usually adequate for a meal.
