Ferry from Patmos (Skala) to Agia Marina (Leros)

Patmos down to Agia Marina on Leros is one of the busiest short hops in the northern Dodecanese. On the Dodekanisos Seaways catamarans and the small local Patmos Star it takes about forty minutes to an hour; the SAOS boat Saonisos, which threads in the smaller islands on the way, can stretch it to two and a half hours. For most travellers it is a straightforward morning or afternoon crossing.

Agia Marina is the commercial and administrative centre of Leros, a working harbour rather than a resort quay. Around it are the Italian rationalist buildings left from the 1912 to 1943 administration, including the clocktower and the covered market. Leros itself is calm and unhurried compared with Kos or Patmos, with quiet beaches and a good deal of wartime and Italian-era history. Note that the island's larger ferries generally use Lakki, a few kilometres away, so check which port your onward boat leaves from.
