Karpathos Ferry Port Guide

Karpathos Ferry Port is located in the main town of Pigadia, also known as Karpathos Town, on the south east coast of the Greek island of Karpathos.

Ferry Port Of Karpathos

The Greek island of Karpathos has two ferry ports. The main one, which we describe here, is in Karpathos Town also known as Pigadia. (The second port is much smaller, located in Diafani).

Karpathos Port is well-served by ferry companies that connect the island to other popular destinations in Greece. Ferries run to and from Crete, Rhodes, Athens, and Santorini as well as other destinations.

The port operates year-round, with more frequent services during the summer season. Between May and October, you can go Greek island hopping to and from Karpathos to key destinations in the Dodecanese island group of Greece.

Ferry Port Karpathos Facilities

The ferry facilities at Karpathos main ferry port are actually pretty poor. There is a tiny sheltered area for foot passengers (and even this was donated to the port!), but not a lot else.

Cars waiting to board ferries leaving from Karpathos queue up in 3 or 4 lines a little further down from the foot passenger waiting area.

As space at Karpathos Town Ferry port is limited, disembarking cars need to clear the area before loading of cars going to the islands from Karpathos ferry port can begin.

Outside the port area and along the waterfront are a series of cafes and tavernas, but these are a little walk away from the arrival and departure dock.
