Mylos to Piraeus Route Map

Mylos is one of Agistri's two small ports, and the Hellenic Seaways high-speed catamarans, the Aero 2 and Aero 3, run back to Piraeus in about an hour. These are passenger-only craft with airline-style seating, calling at Aegina en route rather than running direct. It is a quick, unfussy crossing of the Saronic Gulf.
Piraeus is the main port of Athens and one of the busiest passenger ports in Europe, so arrival is a rather different experience from departure. The Saronic boats use the eastern side of the harbour, within reasonable walking distance of the metro terminus that runs directly into central Athens. It is a sprawling port with numbered gates from E1 to E12, so if you are connecting onto another ferry it is worth checking the gate before you land.
Sailings run several times a day year-round, which is what makes Agistri viable as a short break from Athens. The current timetable and fares are shown below. Slower conventional ferries also serve the island via Aegina if you prefer a cheaper ticket or need to bring a vehicle.

Hiring a car
Can you rent a car in Piraeus?
Yes, several agencies meet passengers directly at the ferry gates (E1 to E12), so there is no need to arrange transport into central Athens first. It suits travellers continuing on to the mainland rather than islanders, since central Athens is only 20 minutes away and has good metro and bus links. Compare local suppliers at Discover Cars.
